Saving, Seeing, Serving: Two Choices

Preacher:
Passage: Matthew 6:19-24

(In the first fourteen minutes of this recording, Pastor Mike leads us in a meditation from the opening verses of Psalm 103 as he gives thanks for God's mercy in giving him a year of life since his open-heart surgery. The sermon from Matthew 6:19 and following begins at 13:43 minutes into the recording.)

In this section of the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus sets before us two choices, three times over, warning us against worldliness.  Where is your treasure? That's where your heart will follow. Have you checked your eyesight? Are you seeing through generous eyes that fill you with light, or are you looking with evil eyes of covetousness and jealousy that fill you with darkness? Who are you intent on serving? The allure of mammon, the desire for treasures, is powerful.

So what and who will you choose to love and serve?
