The great theme of Scripture is God reconciling sinners to himself. That is, God makes peace with those who were his enemies through the Prince of Peace, the Lord Jesus Christ. So, too, members of God's family should reflect this trait. Those who are arrogant cannot be peacemakers. But those who know that they are spiritually poor in themselves and mourn for their sins and the sins of the world, who are humble knowing who they are and seek for righteousness in this life, those who want to be done with everything impure in their lives – these are people who can walk in Jesus' footsteps as peacemakers.
