A Lesser Lenten Light – One Who Dreamed

Preacher:
Passage: Matthew 27:1, 2, 11-26

A light shone upon Pilate early Friday morning as he sat on his judgment throne dealing with another problem brought to him by the Jews. Through his wife, Pilate was given nothing less than a divine message that warned him to judge justly. Pilate knew the truth and it was divinely confirmed, but Pilate loved the darkness more than the light. He served the god of self-interest and his darkened heart grew darker as he fled from the light of the truth about the man who stood quietly before him. What about you:  do you love the darkness more than the light? And there's more to learn from the light that is shed upon our paths from Pilate's wife's dream.
