Christmas and Christ’s Circumcision

Preacher:

Passage: Luke 2:21

As you remember the incarnate Savior – whether during this season or at any other time – rejoice in the work that he began just eight days after his birth. For every other Jew, circumcision was a reminder of his falleness and inability. For Christ, it was a sign not of his sin, but ours, whom he came to redeem through his vicarious life. That substitution of his life for ours began with his circumcision. Praise God for the One who even in his infancy took up our burdens in order that he might truly be the Savior of all the world.
